By default Azure DevOps supported Agile, Scrum and CMMI. If you know atleast one of these, that works a lot better for your task management with sprints. What would happen if you are a newbie? If you do not know any of these?
Luckily, Azure DevOps Team has thought about them too. Now it allows you to select 'Basic' as the work item process type.
Boards are also simplified as in only 3 columns are presented for 'To Do', 'Doing' and 'Done'.
Agile, Scrum and CMMI templates contain many fields when you navigate to the Task edit form. But that also simplified in the Basic process to have only the core fields that are necessary. Anyway, you have the flexibility to add more fields if necessary, via project settings as same in other templates.
